2025 Fishing Reports

Northern Pike Fishing

Loads of pike were caught this weekend. The biggest was 38 inches long. Fisherman caught them on slip bobbers while fishing for crappies, trolling spoons and of course on crank baits when casting for bass. Most of the northerns are around 2 feet long.

Crappie Fishing

Crappie bite was excellent. Bobbers with a minnow far out paced anything else. Crappie were caught on almost any rock pile.

Walleye Fishing

Only a handful of walleyes were caught this weekend. The bass and crappie bite were so hot that no one wanted to slow down and fish for walleyes. The walleyes that were caught we caught on spoons.

Bass Fishing

So many bass were caught this weekend. One cabin reported catching 88, 93 and 160 bass over the weekend. There were only 2 people in that cabin. Many, many pictures were sent in of 18 and 19 inch bass. Most were largemouths, with a few smallies caught as well.

Northern Pike Fishing

Pike are still being caught on just about anything. We did see a couple in the 30 inch range. But mostly hammer handles.

Crappie Fishing

Crappie bite continues to be excellent. There was a huge Mayfly hatch and the crappies have been gorging on mayflies in the shallows. Beetle spins as well as small jigs with twister tails have excelled for catching nice sized crappies.

Walleye Fishing

Walleye bite really picked up this week. Several mid 20 inch walleyes were caught, photographed and released! Most were caught in 6-8 feet of water.

Bass Fishing

I don’t think bass fishing could get any better for a spring bite. Everyone is happy with the bass being caught. Rockpiles with crank baits are good, soft plastics are doing well and chatterbaits are hot.

Northern Pike Fishing

The northerns are getting annoying. We are getting tired of catching small pike. Very few large northerns are being caught. Meps spinners and spinner baits are very good for those wanting to target pike.

Crappie Fishing

Crappie fishing has not slowed down. They have moved a little deeper into 4-5 feet of water.

Walleye Fishing

Walleye fishing has slowed this week. I think the mayfly hatch has really affected the walleyes this past week. Too much food out there.

Bass Fishing

The smallmouth bass bite has really picked up. It appears the bass are moving to their beds. Ned rigs did well this past week.

Northern Pike Fishing

No one seems to be trying to catch pike anymore. Still being caught on accident, but it seems like less pike being caught this week.

Crappie Fishing

Crappie bite is showing signs of transitioning. Still many being caught, but they are slowly moving deeper and not feeding as heavy.

Bluegill Fishing

Finally started to see bluegills get caught. They are appearing everywhere. Saw several 9 inchers caught. Small jigs with a twister tail or a wax worm seemed to be best.

Walleye Fishing

Walleye fishing was very slow this week. Abysmal really. The DNR released a million walleye fry into the lake and I think the walleyes already in the lake just feasted on them. Hopefully they rebound soon!

Perch Fishing

Quite a few decent perch were brought in this week. Fishermen seemed to be pleased with the perch fishing. I heard several comment about taking home a full limit of perch.

Bass Fishing

Brock and I both did some fishing for bass this week. Caught some monsters on senkos. No top water bite still. Water has been warming up, in the upper 60s now, but we haven’t seen many frogs. Will probably be a couple weeks until the top water bite kicks in. Still seeing both smallmouth and largemouth being caught.

Northern Pike Fishing

A couple of decent(30 inch plus) pike were caught this week, but otherwise just dozens of hammer handles.

Crappie Fishing

Crappie fishing really slowed down this week. Several nice 11 inchers were still being caught, but not in the numbers seen a couple of weeks ago.

Bluegill Fishing

More bluegills coming in everyday. Especially on sunny days!

Walleye Fishing

Walleye fishing really improved this week. Still not great, but several caught every day.

Perch Fishing

Loads of perch were caught this week including several jumbo perch.

Bass Fishing

Bass are finishing up their spawning, but most fisherman are still reporting catching dozens of bass each day. More largemouth bass than smallmouth bass were caught. Some rumors of top water lures were heard this week, but no consistency yet.

Northern Pike Fishing

Outside of one massive, 39 inch, northern caught we again had lots and lots of 20-24 inch pike caught all over the place.

Crappie Fishing

Even though the crappie fishing is much slower than it was a couple weeks ago, many fisherman are still finding some nice crappies.

Bluegill Fishing

Bluegill fishing is very good right now. Good mix of sizes being caught all over the lake.

Walleye Fishing

Several walleye were caught this week including a 30.5 incher!

Perch Fishing

Perch fishing remained strong this week. We even had several 12 and 13 inchers caught!

Bass Fishing

Bass are pretty much post spawn at this point. Fishing has gotten a little more difficult due to them being post spawn, but lots being caught. We expect it to pick up again as they recover and move to normal summer patterns.

Northern Pike Fishing

Just small pike being caught while bluegill fishing or bass fishing.

Crappie Fishing

Outside of a couple lucky fishermen, crappie fishing is slow.

Bluegill Fishing

So many bluegill being caught lately. Small jigs with twister tails, bobbers with wax worms and even some beetle spins.

Walleye Fishing

Walleye fishing is extremely slow.

Bass Fishing

The top water bite is going well as well as soft plastics and chatterbaits. Chatterbaits are really the hot lure right now. Senkos would come in second. Some good action on tube jigs also being reported. Natural colors are best.

Northern Pike Fishing

Mostly smaller pike but a guest did catch one about 35 inches long last week. Caught while bass fishing!

Bluegill Fishing

Loads of bluegills are being caught this week. Bobber fishing is the rage for bluegill fishing.

Walleye Fishing

One walleye was reported being caught while bass fishing. This is partly because the walleye fishing is not good right now and partly because people are catching bass everywhere…

Bass Fishing

The Fat Ika has taken over as the best bait for bass fishing right now. Tube jigs are also doing great. The senko and chatterbait are also good, but not as good as the previous two. Mostly largemouth bass being caught with a few smallmouth mixed in.

Northern Pike Fishing

Pike fishing has slowed down with the warmer water temps. Some small pike were caught but mostly while fishing for other fish.

Crappie Fishing

Crappie were the surprise this week. Several fishermen reported catching nice crappies.

Bluegill Fishing

Bobber fishing for bluegills is very good right now. Bluegills seem to like heavy weed cover and bobbers.

Walleye Fishing

One walleye fisherman at the lodge this week. He did very well with both jerk baits and live bait.

Bass Fishing

The bass bite continues to be the strongest bite. Lots and lots of 3 and 4 pound bass being caught. Largemouth are making up about 2/3 of the bass being caught.

Northern Pike Fishing

Small pike. Everywhere.

Bluegill Fishing

Dock fishing for Bluegills is very, very good. Wax worms or cut up nightcrawlers or small leeches are also excellent with a bobber.

Walleye Fishing

Nothing really to report for walleye fishing. No one really targeted them this week.

Bass Fishing

The chatterbait is crushing it for day time bass fishing. The swim jig is probably even better. This week I personally fished the stumps, the north shore near Doctor’s point and Saunders bay. All were great. Especially for top water lures.
