Mid July Fishing Report for Pelican Lake

Late June and early July have been very good for bass fishing along with strong results for pike fishing. Walleye fishing and crappie have really slowed down. Pike have been extra aggressive particularly for spoons and spinner baits. White has been the hot color for pike. Bass fishing has been best with tube jigs, senkos, rattle traps, crankbaits and top water lures. The best colors for soft plastics have been orange pumpkin and motor oil. The fire tiger crank baits have been good as well as blue and chrome rattle traps. Walleye have hit best on shad raps, particularly chrome ones with a little blue and orange.
