Spring Fishing Report

Spring Fishing Report

Published on May 23, 2017 On Fishing Report

Water temperature is 53 degrees. Temperature was almost up to 60 degrees, but the weather has been rainy and cold for 3 days now bringing the water temps back down.

Crappie fishing has been good. Most of the Crappie are being caught on a bare hook with a minnow hooked in the tail. Some have done okay with a beetle spin.

The Smallmouth has really picked up the last few days. Best results have been a simple hook with a leech or a worm. Go with an octopus size 1 hook.

Pike have been everywhere. Lots of 23 and 24 inch pike brought in and filleted recently.

Largemouth. Only a couple have been caught in the last few days. One was reported at 18.5 inches.

No Bluegill to speak of yet.

Walleye. We saw some nice walleye caught on opening day but nothing brought in or reported by guests here the last few days.
